Our Extra Wide Pressure Relief crownpiece is specifically designed to disperse pressure evenly across the poll while avoiding contact with the TMJ (temporomandibular joint), one of the most sensitive areas of the horse’s head.
The wider central section helps spread pressure over a greater surface area, reducing concentrated loading on the poll.
Unlike many extra wide crownpieces, the tapered cut-back design allows full ear clearance while running in a straight, balanced line to the bit. This refined shaping ensures the crownpiece does not sit on or interfere with the TMJ — a common issue in poorly designed wide headpieces.
